Our aim is to inspire and unite enterprises, encouraging them to take proactive steps, ranging from aiding disadvantaged individuals in securing a sustainable employment in the workforce to supporting employees facing hardships.

More than just financial aid, employment represents a gateway to self-reliance and community integration. Gainful employment opens doors to additional subsidy programs, such as housing and childcare, which are particularly vital for marginalized segments. Stable and sustainable employment empowers disadvantaged individuals to reap the rewards of their labour, reducing their dependence on traditional welfare systems.

A platform for business collective giving, the Employability Fund supports employment programmes that outreach to vulnerable groups such as homeless individuals, women facing challenges, and people with mental health conditions to enter and be (re)integrated into the workforce.

SBF Foundation launched Empower Circles, a platform that bridges the business community - employers - with social service agencies dedicated to nurturing and supporting individuals transitioning from challenging circumstances.

Empower Circles

Empower Circles serves to bridge the knowledge gap of employers on the employment challenges faced by vulnerable job seekers.

Human resource professionals and Heads of SMEs come together to share progressive hiring practices and appreciation of challenges faced by disadvantaged groups through Empower Circles.

Youth Connections
Opportunities arise from connections.

The Foundation seeks to empower young individuals who may have limited social or personal networks. Youth Connections was piloted in December 2022, where 10 youths connected with business leaders of their choice. The 5 leaders volunteered their time and shared their working experiences and wisdom.

The pilot programme provided a platform for the young participants to establish connections within the business community and have a positive role model to look up to, thereby ensuring that they too can access and benefit from similar opportunities. Additionally, it facilitated a reciprocal exchange of perspectives between the business leaders and youths, enabling both groups to gain insights and knowledge from each other’s viewpoints.

The Foundation aims to encourage more business leaders to take action and engage with young people, empowering them to be productive and resilient adults who contribute to the betterment of society.
