Public Transport Council (PTC)

Public Transport Council started the Caring SG Commuters Movement in 2017, through a series of co-creation pilots with likeminded partners, to champion the growth of a caring commuting culture. It aims to transform Singapore society at large and enhance social cohesion, with citizens looking out for one another in their daily interactions. The Caring SG Commuters Committee, set up in 2020, guides multi-agency efforts to grow and sustain the Movement.

As part of contribution towards public education on a caring commuting culture, PTC is partnering LTA and all four Public Transport Operators to facilitate the adoption of the Public Bus Inclusivity Course across Singapore’s public transport network. This programme was started by Tower Transit Singapore, and it aims to augment learning from the Caring Commuter Champion course through providing hands-on training in relation to assisting vulnerable commuters.
