Sankyu Singapore

At Sankyu, we are always grateful to the people around us. Together with our like-minded partners, we continuously create new value to support the world’s industries and protect our blue planet for all living beings. Our Management Goals embrace our responsibility to contribute to society’s sustainable development.

Our Code of Conduct consists of nine rules, two of which drive our purpose in doing social good:

  1. I will endeavor to work in a way that inspires society.
  2. I will contribute to building a company that nurtures positive people.

We aim to foster a positive workforce that inspires society by encouraging our staff to engage in social good. Through our engagement with the Community Market, where one of our employees was featured as a case study by EMPACT in July 2023, we recognized the need for more organisational participation.

We connected with the SG Cares centre at FRCS Clementi to support the Volunteerism program. Our first effort was participating in the JAMPACK Foodbank with Jamiyah Singapore, placing a collection bin in our lobby from October 2023. Starting January 2024, we will work closely with SASCO Senior Citizens’ Home on a monthly program. To date, we have organised activities like CNY celebrations, a mini sports day, and outdoor events.

Each Sankyu Singapore employee is entitled to one day of volunteer leave per year from 2024. These activities allow our staff to contribute back to society, fostering a sense of purpose and community engagement.

Our journey began in 2018 when we started hiring Persons with Disabilities (PWD). Partnering with SBF Foundation, we met like-minded companies driving social change, making us a more inclusive company. Working with PWDs has made our staff more appreciative of the challenges others face. On 8 November 2021, we were certified Silver enabling mark by SG Enable.

With an aging population, we encourage our staff to volunteer their time with the community. Supporting SASCO’s program for active aging seniors has provided more to our employees than the participants, offering team bonding opportunities and valuable interactions. As our volunteer program grows, we hope to encourage more colleagues to allocate their time to this meaningful work.
