The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) has launched the Singapore Emission Factors Registry (SEFR), a new digital platform designed to provide local businesses with access to over 200 emissions factors specifically tailored for Singapore. This initiative aims to eliminate reliance on international sources for emissions data, helping firms accurately track and report their greenhouse gas emissions.
The SBF Foundation supports the SEFR as part of The Corporate Purpose Initiative (TCPI), which is designed to assist SMEs in achieving their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. SBF Foundation CEO Jean Tan described the SEFR as a “critical resource” for driving impactful climate action and emission reduction strategies.
Singtel has committed a $1 million donation to the SBF Foundation’s TCPI to support projects like the SEFR. Other donors to the TCPI include BinjaiTree, City Developments Limited, DBS Bank, Far East Organisation, and RGE Group.
The SEFR will serve as a vital tool for businesses as they navigate their sustainability strategies, with ongoing consultations planned to ensure it meets local needs effectively.
